Solel Sabbath Fellowship celebrates each of the Appointed Times of YHVH together as a congregation.
Our congregation follows the sighting of the new moon and the aviv barley from Israel to determine the new year and the feast dates. Several announcements have come in that the barley in Israel is sufficiently aviv so that, if there were a Temple, the priest could wave a sheaf as the firstfruits offering during the upcoming feast, so the new year can be therefore determined (Exodus 12:1-2; 13:4; 23:15; 34:18; Deuteronomy 16:1).
At the end 29th day of this Biblical Month (evening of March 19), the moon in Israel will be too early in its cycle (i.e. too close to the sun), for it to be visible to the naked eye. Therefore, the upcoming Biblical month will begin on Friday, March 20 at sunset by default. We want to shout out a happy new year to you all.
Spring Feast Events
- Passover Seder (Friday, April 3) – We will be hosting a Passover seder at 6 PM at Pennway Church of God in Lansing. If you would like to attend, please register here. If you prefer to host Passover in your own home and need a Passover haggadah for your seder, please click here.
- First Day of Unleavened Bread/Sabbath (Saturday, April 4) – We will be hosting our regular Sabbath services at 2 PM at Pennway Church of God in Lansing as we celebrate the first day of Unleavened Bread, followed by our regular oneg fellowship meal afterward.
- First Fruits/Resurrection (Sunday, April 5) – We will be meeting at 1 PM at St. Johns City Park for simple worship and bring-your-own picnic lunches, followed by a relaxing afternoon enjoying the playground, disc golf, trails, and good fellowship.
